Evolution

This project started as a set of Make.com automation workflows built for a funded startup's sales team. The initial goal was simple: automate the repetitive parts of LinkedIn prospecting so the team could focus on closing.

Over time, the system evolved into a series of n8n workflows, then into a full CRM-like prospecting platform. What began as basic outreach automation grew into a complete prospecting and outreach system for LinkedIn — covering everything from lead discovery to response tracking.

Along the way, we explored social selling strategies, autonomous LinkedIn profiles, and custom SaaS approaches to LinkedIn sales development.

Challenges & Learnings

AI rapport-building in cold outreach has inherent limitations. While the messaging was personalised and well-targeted, we found that genuine relationship-building still benefits from human involvement at key touchpoints.

Client concerns about account safety and platform compliance were a recurring theme. LinkedIn's terms of service and rate limits required careful navigation — pushing too aggressively risked account restrictions, so we had to balance volume with safety.

The market became saturated quickly. A prominent YouTuber replicated the concept publicly, leading to thousands of knockoffs appearing almost overnight. This forced us to differentiate on quality and pivot our approach.

Ultimately, we pivoted from direct outreach automation to focusing on the prospecting and enrichment layer — where the real, defensible value lives.
